All about the Khartoum Circuit I- 5 Days (24th – 29th December).

Starting off from Khartoum, enjoy the sites of the relaxed capital before touring the rest of the state.

What is included in this tour?Items that are included in the cost of tour price.
  • 4×4 car rent with A/C.
  • Fuel and road fees.
  • Tour Guide fees.  Please note that a team of tour guides work for Real Sudan and therefore tours guided by Samir are dependent upon his availability.  All RS tour guides are fluent in English and university graduates with degrees in Sudan history.
  • Entry fees.
  • All meals outside Khartoum.  Breakfast normally consists of eggs, cheese, and jam.  Lunch is a light meal; normally tuna, cheese and chips.  Dinner is the main meal; normally consisted of soup, cooked veges, chicken or meat.
  • Bottled water, all hot and cold drinks are included.
  • All Accommodations.  Hotel in Khartoum camping or local guest houses outside Khartoum.  Camping or staying in a local guest house is to be decided by the tour guide after consulting with you.
  • Traveling permits and photos permission.
  • Registration fees.
  • Invitation letter.

  1. Day1 - 24th December Khartoum
    • Sudan National museum.  The confluence of the Nile.  The Mahdi fortifications and Lord Kitchener boat.  Mahdi’s Tomb.  Khalifa house.  Om Dorman market.
    • We can add a visit to Hamed El Nil Mausoleum and attend the Sufi dance in Friday.
    • Hotel stay in Khartoum.

    Note: Most of Khartoum historical attractions close in Monday.

  2. Day2 - 25th December Kerma
    • Khartoum to Kerma from the west road.
    • Lunch.
    • Arrive in Kerma and visit Western Deffufa and the Museum.
    • Dinner and night stay in Kerma.

     

  3. Day3 - 26th December Karima
    • Breakfast.
    • Drive to Karima.
    • Lunch.
    • Stop at El Kuru on the way to Karima.
    • Visit Eastern Deffufa.
    • Arrive in Karima, hike Jebel Barkal for the sunset.
    • Dinner and night stay in Karima.
  4. Day4 - 27th December Nuri & Bayuda Desert
    • Breakfast.
    • Visit the temple of Jebel Berkal and its local museum.
    • Lunch.
    • Visit Nuri.
    • Drive across Bayuda desert.
    • Stop at El Marwa Mountain and water well.
    • Visit a local Bedouin community on the way.
    • Arrive in Meroe Pyramids field.
    • Dinner and stay overnight.
  5. Day5 - 28th December Meroe
    • Breakfast.
    • Explore Meroe Pyramids and visit the Royal city.
    • Drive to Naga and Musawwarat and visit its temples.  During the rain season (end of June–July–Aug–Sept).  Visiting Naga and Musawwarat would be impossible if there’s rain in the valley leads to these sites.
    • Lunch.
    • Drive to Khartoum, arrives in Khartoum before the sun set.  If time permits, we can add the 6th Cataract (Sabaloka)
Hotels, Tea Houses and Lodges

In Khartoum: Acropole hotel – 1 night.

Note: There is a luxury accommodation available in Khartoum (Al Salam Rotana and Corinthia hotels), in Meroe (the Tented camp) and Karima (the Nubian guest house).  Let me know if you would like to include them.
