Take your time exploring the banks of the great Nile in Sudan and all that it has to offer.

  • 4×4 car rent with A/C.
  • Airport transfers.
  • Fuel and road fees.
  • Tour Guide fees.  Please note that a team of tour guides work for Real Sudan and therefore tours guided by Samir are dependent upon his availability.  All RS tour guides are fluent in English and university graduates with degrees in Sudan history.
  • Entry fees.
  • All meals outside Khartoum.  Breakfast normally consists of eggs, cheese, and jam. Lunch is a light meal; normally tuna, cheese and chips.  Dinner is the main meal; normally consisted of soup, cooked veges, chicken or meat.
  • Bottled water, all hot and cold drinks are included.
  • All Accommodations (12 nights).  1-night stay in a hotel in Khartoum and 6 nights camping or local guest houses outside Khartoum.  Camping or staying in a local guest house is to be decided by the tour guide after consulting with you.
  • Invitation letter, traveling permits and photo permission.
  • Registration fees.

  1. Day1 Khartoum
    • Ethnographic Museum (if open).  Confluence of the Nile.  Republican Palace Museum (except Mon and Sat).  Kitchener Gunboat.
    • Boat ride in the Nile.

     

  2. Day2 Old Dongola
    • Khartoum.  Benganarti
    • Benganarti.  Old Dongola (Fort on the west road)
  3. Day3 El Khandaq/Kawa
    • Old Dongola attractions.  The ferry to the east; travel to El Khandaq and explore the old city.
    • Night stay in El Khandaq Local house.
    • Or use the east road and travel in the desert road to Kawa (instead of El Khandaq)
    • Night stay in Kawa (camping)
  4. Day4 Kerma
    • Kawa to Kerma and visit its attractions (West Deffufa–East Deffufa–Dogogil if open), the site museum.
    • Visit the local market in the afternoon.
    • Night stay in local guesthouse.
  5. Day5 Tombos
    • Kerma to Tombos and visit the Granite Quarry.  The rock graffiti.  Boat ride in the Nile; the Island.
    • Night stay in Tombos.
  6. Day6 Sesibi
    • Tombos.  Messeda.  Nauri.  Sebu.  3rd Cataract.  Cross the Nile in Delgo.
    • Night stay in Sesibi (possible in the Nubian guest house)
  7. Day7 Soleb
    • Sesibi temple.  Travel to Soleb.  Visit the temple.
    • Night stay in Soleb guesthouse.
  8. Day8 Gebel Dosha
    • Sun rise in Soleb.  Jebel Dosha.  Sedeinga.  Gobet Salim.
    • Arrive in Sai Island and nights stay in local guesthouse.

     

  9. Day9 Sai Island
    • Sai Island attractions.
    • Night stay in Sai.
  10. Day10 Idris Shrine
    • Sai Island.  Idris Shrine.  New Dongola.
    • Night stay in a hotel.
  11. Day11 Karima
    • New Dongola.  Karima.
    • Hike Jebel Barkal for the sunset.
    • Local guest house in Karima.
  12. Day12 El Kurru
    • Karima site.  Karima market.
    • Boat ride to El Kurru (about 1.5 hour)
    • The Petrified forest.
  13. Day13 Nuri & Bayuda Desert
    • Nuri.  Ghazali.  Bayuda desert.  Visit local nomads in the desert (according to availability)
    • Arrive in Meroe and camp overnight or hotel or local guest house.
    • Possibly stop at El Damer market (according to time)
  14. Day14 Meroe
    • Meroe.  Royal City.  Musawwarat.  Naga.  6th Cataract.
    • Hotel stay in Khartoum.
  15. Day15 Khartoum
    • The Camel Market.  Khalifa House.  Mahdi Tomb.  Om Dorman Market and the local handicrafts workshops.
    • The Sufi ritual in Hamed El Nile (Friday only) Or the Nubian Wrestling (Fri–Sat–Wed)
