All about the Khartoum to Wadi Halfa – 11 Days.

Make your way from the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, all the way to Wadi Halfa on the border with Egypt.

  • 4×4 car rent with A/C.

  • Tour Guide fees.  Please note that a team of tour guides work for Real Sudan and therefore tours guided by Samir are dependent upon his availability.  All RS tour guides are fluent in English and university graduates with degrees in Sudan history.

  • All meals outside Khartoum.  Breakfast normally consists of eggs, cheese, and jam.  Lunch is a light meal; normally tuna, cheese and chips.  Dinner is the main meal; normally consisted of soup, cooked veges, chicken or meat.
  • Bottled water, all hot and cold drinks are included.
  • All Accommodations (10 nights).   1-night stay in a hotel in Khartoum and the rest camping or local guest houses outside Khartoum.  Camping or staying in a local guest house is to be decided by the tour guide after consulting with you.
  • Invitation letter, traveling permits and photo permission.

  1. Day1 Khartoum
    • National Museum.  Confluence of the Nile.  Republican Palace Museum (except Mon and Sat).  Kitchener Gunboat.  Khalifa House.  Imam El Mahdi Tomb.  Om Dorman local Market.
    • Afternoon: Attend the Sufi ritual in Hamed El Nile (Friday only) Or the Nubian Wrestling (Fri–Sat–Wed)
    • Hotel stay in Khartoum.
  2. Day2 Naga and Musawwarat
    • Khartoum.  Naga.  Musawwarat.  Meroe.
    • Camping or local guesthouse.
  3. Day3 Meroe
    • Meroe.  Karima.
  4. Day4 Karima
    • Karima visits  and night stay in Karima.
    • Visit around  Karima.
  5. Day5 Old Dongola
    • To Old Dongola.
    • Local guest house in Old Dongola.
  6. Day6 El Khandaq/Kawa
    • Old Dongola attractions.  The ferry  to the west; travel to El Khandaq and explore the old city.
    • Night stay in El Khandaq Local house.
    • Or use the east road and travel in the desert road to Kawa (instead of El Khandaq)
    • Night stay in Kawa (camping)
  7. Day7 Kerma
    • Kawa to Kerma and visit its attractions (West Deffufa–East Deffufa–Dogogil if open); the site museum.
    • Visit the local market in the afternoon.
    • Night stay in local guesthouse.
  8. Day8 Tombos
    • Tombos.  Messeda.  Nauri.  Sebu.  3rd Cataract.  Qubit Idris.
    • Night stay in Wawa.
  9. Day9 Soleb
    • Soleb.  Visit the temple.  Jebel Dosha.  Sedeinga.  Gobet Salim.
    • Arrive in Sai Island and nights stay in local guest house.
  10. Day10 Sai Island
    • Sai Island attractions.
    • Night stay in Sai.
  11. Day11 Wadi Halfa
    • Travel to Wadi Halfa.  Or Argin in the west to cross to Egypt.
