What is included in this tour?Items that are included in the cost of tour price.
  • 4×4 car rent with A/C.
  • Airport transfers.
  • Fuel and road fees.
  • Tour Guide fees. Please note that a team of tour guides work for Real Sudan and therefore tours guided by Samir are dependent upon his availability. All RS tour guides are fluent in English and university graduates with degrees in Sudan history.
  • Entry fees.
  • All meals outside Khartoum. Breakfast normally consists of egg, cheese, and jam. Lunch is a light meal; normally tuna, cheese and chips.  Dinner is the main meal; normally consisted of soup, cooked veges, chicken or meat.
  • Bottled water, all hot and cold drinks are included.
  • All Accommodations.  Night stay in a hotel in Khartoum and nights camping or local guest houses outside Khartoum.  Camping or staying in a local guest house is to be decided by the tour guide after consulting with you.
  • Invitation letter, travelling permits and photo permission.

  1. Day1 - 2nd February Khartoum and Old Dongola
    • Khartoum to Old Dongola from the west road. About 400 km on a tar road, about 5 hours drive including lunch stop.
    • Explore Old Dongola.
    • Night stay in Old Dongola.
    • All meals and water included.
  2. Day2 - 3rd February Kerma
    • Breakfast.
    • Old Dongola to the 3rd Cataract.  Explore the rock art.
    • Drive to Kerma.
    • Night stay in a local guest house in Kerma.
  3. Day3 - 4th February Karima
    • Visit Western and Eastern Defufa.  Dokogil and Defufa site museum.
    • Drive to Karima.
    • Local guest house in Karima.
    • All meals and water included
  4. Day4 - 5th February Jebel Barkal
    • Karima attractions.  Karima market.  Boat ride to El Kurru (about 1.5 hour).  The Petrified forest.
    • Hike Jebel Barkal for the sunset.
    • Local guest house in Karima.
    • All meals and water included.
  5. Day5 - 6th February Bayuda Desert
    • Nuri.  Ghazali.  Bayuda desert.  visit local nomads in the desert (according to availability).
    • Arrive in Meroe and camp overnight.  Possibly stop at El Damer market (according to time).
    • All meals and water included.
  6. Day6 - 7th February Meroe
    • Breakfast.
    • Explore Meroe Pyramids and visit the Royal city.
    • Drive to Naga and Musawwarat and visit its temples.  During the rainy season (end of June–July–Aug–Sept); visiting Naga and Musawwarat would be impossible if there’s rain in the valley leads to these sites.
    • Lunch.
    • Stop at the local well in Naga and meet the local while gathering for the water.
    • Drive to Khartoum, arrives in Khartoum in the afternoon.
    • All meals and water included till arriving in Khartoum.
    • Attend, the Sufi ritual in Hamed El Nile (Friday only).
